OmniFocus Presentation

Ok, not really a presentation of OmniFocus as much as a presentation about… For all you MacWorld attendees waiting to find out more about what’s in store for OmniFocus, the work in progress, etc. there will be a meetup on Monday, 4:30pm at the SF Apple store. I was hoping to turn a work trip into a MacWorld trip but sadly will not be able to (shakes fist at work, then get’s back to work).

While OmniFocus still has some ways to go before beta, it’s already clearly a solid foundation for an incredible product. If you were hoping for kGTD without the sync button and with stability, you’ll see it in OmniFocus. What I won’t mention here (yet) is everything else you’ll be getting. There’s some serious horse power under that hood.

If you’re able to make it, enjoy and give Omni a big round of applause for being such a swell bunch of folks that listen to user’s needs. I’ll miss being there but OmniGroup’s Michelle is going to speak in a lowish voice and wave her hands around a lot to simulate my presence.

As icing on an already delicious cake, Merlin Mann (GTD demigod, rock and roll vagrant) will be there as well to look suave, field questions, etc.

Never get off the boat

I returned last week from something like five consecutive shoots in Cambodia where, shockingly, wifi is scarce. I note two things:

  1. I have several mails from people saying that they bought my software. I hope they didn’t since Kinkless is free (anything this buggy has to be). Please let me know if you see someone trying to scam sell it. That would be bad.

  2. The comment spam has totally gone off the charts. I was trying to keep up with it for a while and clearly it’s overwhelmed everything. Sorry about that. I’ll see what I can do.

Kinkless GTD 0.83 [Relative Motion]

Fearing that I might be stoned if I delayed any longer (I read The Lottery in high school… I know mob justice when I hear it pounding at my webserver), here’s the all new kGTD 0.83 release. Smell it. I made it smell like new car. Mmmmm. Shake it. I made it sound like an unopened box of cracker jacks, a toy surprise still inside. Except in this case, it’s no toy, it’s lots of new code and, invariably, new bugs. But I hope that the utility outweighs the bugginess.

Note: If you are not feeling up to experimentation, chill for a bit and see where the chips fall after a couple of days. If you are more of a “let’s boldly go” type, then by all means, beta-away.
