I wanted to post this again because I didn’t get a response last time but I’m hoping that someone might be able to help me…
I keep getting a window pop up when I hit the sync button which says the following: “The script “sync’ could not complete. AppleScript reported the following error: OmniOutliner Professional got an error: *_ [NSCFArray removeObjectAtIndex:] index (0) beyond bounds (0)” and then it gives me two buttons “edit script” and “ok”
I tried reinstalling kinkless and omni outliner and it still gives me the error. I’m on a powerbook g4 15. OS 10.4.7
Thanks in advance for your help.
One other person reported
One other person reported this problem back in May, and it wasn’t recognized then. Maybe you could contribute some specifics:
When did this start happening? Did it happen on the initial Sync or the first time you synced after adding data or only after you’d been successfully using kGTD for a while?
Are you syncing to iCal? to a phone or PDA?
Is there anything in your Archive?
And for extra credit: go to Wait Messages which is the very last item in KGTD Settings. Add (or replace the periods with) the number of periods in the row. Now as you run the Sync script, the waiting message will show the number of subroutines it has processed. What number is showing just before you get the error message?
hey guys, thanks for your
hey guys, thanks for your responses, sorry for the late reply…
Paul, to answer your questions, it started happening a few weeks into using kGTD. It was running smoothly for a while. I was syncing to iCal and to a Treo via Missing Sync 5.1.0. but even with iCal sync turned off, it still gives the error. As for the “wait messages” there are no sub topics under it, am i supposed to? Should I add periods?
Yesterday, the information I gave on the last post is the same information as I did last time, which is to say, not much.
Your suggestion of recreating a document seemed to work with about 10 tasks. I’m gonna see if I can slowly keep adding my tasks and see when it starts to give me the same error but I’d love to find out a work around anyway so I won’t have to keep repasting tasks in to a new doc.
Here’s where the script ends:
delete named styles of level style 1 of every row of Section_Projects
Does this mean I need to change the name of the level style 1?
Thanks for all your help!
Good morning. Your answers
Good morning.
Your answers to Ray’s and my questions suggest that it is choking on something in the projects list or something in the record of the prior sync that is used to check if you have deleted an action.
You can try pasting your Projects list from your old document into your new one, if you are an optimist, or paste about half of the remaining projects into the new document at a time, until it fails.
ok thanks Paul and Ray,
ok thanks Paul and Ray, I’ll try repasting in the new document and see when I go wrong. So far so good, but it’s a slow process. I’ll let you know when I run into the problem again.
BTW, I just read about Omni group starting a GTD app: http://www.tuaw.com/2006/09/25/omni-group-confirms-omnifocus-a-gtd-app-in-the-works/ Do you think it’s a rendtion of this kinkless app? Very curious…
so, after rebuilding my
so, after rebuilding my document, it seems to be working fine after a week. I couldn’t quite figure out the exact culprit but I’m wondering if it was the extra level of rows? I usuall have up to level 3 rows but on the previous document, I had a few level 4 rows (subtasks of tasks). By eliminating those, the apple script doesn’t seem to happen anymore, but it doesn’t seem to make sense, right? Strange. Anyway, thanks for all your help.
Re: Sync Script Error: NSCFArray removeObjectAtIndex??
Although the post is a bit older, this might help somebody.
I run into the same problem and solved it by removing the 4th level of rows. Thanks for the hints.
BTW: The error message sometimes popped up after step 5, the sync-script halted at step 9. A click on OK and again on sync made it run through. But I had to do it each time.
Re: Sync Script Error: NSCFArray removeObjectAtIndex??
I get exactly the same message in the first post. FWIW, I’m using a MacBook (intel) and system 10.4.11 and Omnioutliner Pro 3.6.3
